Prompt: Write a short story about a man who discovers a magical portal
Response:

My name is Timothy and I’m not really sure why I’m telling you this, but I’ve been feeling really strange lately. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but every day I feel like something’s wrong. It started with a headache, but then it just kept getting worse.

Eventually, I decided to visit the doctor. He told me that I probably just needed some sleep, but that didn’t help. I kept feeling like I was being watched, and even when I was alone in my room I could still hear things. Finally, one night I woke up from a nightmare and found that my bed was suddenly empty. I got up and looked around, but I couldn’t find anyone.

That’s when I decided to check my computer for any sign of a virus, but when I turned it on something strange happened. The screen just filled with this weird blue and green light and before I even had a chance to react, it suddenly went blank.

I didn’t know what to do, so I just sat there for a while until I heard a sound coming from my computer. It sounded like someone was typing, but I couldn’t see anything. Then, suddenly, the cursor changed into a letter and the words “STEPHEN KING” appeared in the middle of the screen.

I was so surprised that I just sat there for a while until the computer shut down on its own. After that, I was pretty scared and decided to go to the police. But when I told them what had happened, they just laughed at me. They said that it was just some kind of computer glitch and that there was no way that a letter could come up on my screen.

But even after they said that, I couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened. I had never even heard of a portal before, but now I knew that it was the only explanation. And I knew that I had to find it.

So, for the last few weeks I’ve been trying to find that portal. I’ve been searching online, but I haven’t found anything. And even if I did, I don’t know how to get through it. But I think that’s okay. Because even if I don’t find the portal, I know I’ll be okay.
