John had always been a bit of a skeptic, but when he was young his parents had been killed in a car accident, and he had been raised by his grandparents. As an adult, he had never given much credence to the stories of magic and mystical portals, but one day he decided to take a walk in the woods near his house. As he was walking, he discovered a small clearing with a tree in the center. He sat down under the tree and closed his eyes, and then he felt something touch his face. He opened his eyes to find that the tree in the center of the clearing had grown larger, and there was a door in its trunk. John cautiously walked up to the tree and opened the door, and he found himself in a mysterious new world. There were magicians and sorcerers walking around, and they all noticed John as he entered the portal. John was surprised by the reaction he got, as they all seemed to greet him with open arms. John decided to stay in this world for a while, and he enjoyed the company of the magicians and sorcerers. He soon started to feel like he was a part of the community, and he started to think that this was the kind of world that he had been searching for all along.
