Prompt: Write a short story about a man who discovers a magical portal

Rick had always been a curious man, and his job as a mechanic didn’t do much to restrain that curiosity. One day, he was working on a car and noticed a weird light coming from under the hood. After a few minutes of looking, he found the source of the light: a large, old-fashioned portal.
Rick went through the portal and found himself in a completely different world. He was surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, butterflies flitted around, and the sun shone brightly. He was also the only person in the place.
Rick walked around for a while, taking in the sights and sounds of his new world. Suddenly, he heard something moving behind a nearby tree. He slowly approached, and there he saw a small, furry creature running away. Rick couldn’t believe his eyes: he had just seen a little creature from his world step through a portal and into this one!
Rick was excited to explore this new world more, but he knew he had to be careful. He didn’t want to get lost in this unfamiliar place. Rick waited until nightfall, then walked back through the portal and back to his own world. He was amazed that he had found such a magical place, and he knew he would never forget it.
