Prompt: Write a short story about a man who discovers a magical portal

Sticking out of the ground, or more accurately, through the floor of his garage, was an odd looking object. He had seen it a few times before, but never paid it much attention. That is, until one day he walked outside and noticed the object was missing. After looking all around and not being able to find it, he decided to look inside his garage. When he got down on his hands and knees, he discovered the object was actually a portal to another world.
He stepped through and found himself in a strange place. There were colourful flowers everywhere, and the sun was shining. He walked around for a bit and then decided he should head back home. When he got there, he noticed the portal was still there, so he walked back through. This time, he couldn’t help but explore. He ended up staying in this world for a while, and even made some friends. He would often visit this world, and it was always a joy.
