Thirty-five-year-old John had been working a dead-end job for six years when he finally decided to take the plunge and go back to school. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do, but he knew he needed to make something of himself. The only problem was, he didn’t have any money saved up.
One day, he happened to spot an article about a magical portal that could help people like him achieve their dreams. He knew it was his ticket out of this crappy job and into something better.
The portal was actually located in Africa, but John was determined to make the trip. He sold everything he had and borrowed money from friends and family to cover the cost.
When he arrived at the portal, he was greeted by a beautiful woman in a long white dress. She told him that in order to use the portal, he would have to give her a heart.
John was hesitant, but the woman told him that if he didn’t give her his heart, he would never be able to return.
So, John gave her his heart.
He ended up discovering that he was a wizard, and now he travels the world using his magic to help people. He still misses the woman he gave his heart to, but he knows that she’s waiting for him in Africa, and he’s grateful for all the wonderful things she’s done for him.
