Prompt: Chocolate cake recipe

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), at room temperature
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 cup milk
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter and flour a 9-inch cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter until creamy. Add granulated sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg and beat for 2 minutes. Add milk and beat until completely combined. Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick or cake tester comes out clean when inserted into the center of the cake.
5. Allow cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the cake, turn it out onto a wire rack, and let cool completely.
