Prompt: Chocolate cake recipe

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup milk
1 cup boiling water
1 cup red food coloring
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then the vanilla. In another large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until just blended. Stir in the cocoa powder and milk until well blended. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 55 minutes. Cool cake in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a sharp knife around the edge of the cake and invert it onto a serving plate. Cool further.
4. To make the frosting: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup cream, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 teaspoon red food coloring.
5. Drizzle frosting over top of cake.
