Prompt: Chocolate cake recipe

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour an 8-inch cake pan and set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter on medium speed until it is light and fluffy. Add granulated sugar and continue to beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and buttermilk and mix until all ingredients are well combined. Add the flour mixture and mix until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick or cake tester comes out clean when inserted into the center of the cake. Allow cake to cool completely before serving.
