1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/3 cups whole milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup dark cocoa powder

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add milk and oil and mix until just blended. Add flour mixture and mix until just blended.

4. layer one-third of the batter in the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the dark cocoa powder. Top with 1/3 cup of the whipped cream.

5. Repeat the layers, ending with the whipped cream. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of cocoa powder.

6. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
