Prompt: Write a short story about a man who discovers a magical portal

As a young child, Tim had always been fascinated by stories of magical portals. He was sure that such a thing existed, and that he would one day find it. That day finally came when he was old enough to explore the world on his own. Tim was excited to find the portal, but was quickly disappointed when he found nothing but dense forestry on the other side. He continued to search, however, and eventually stumbled upon a small opening in the trees. Peering through, he saw a brilliant light in the distance. Excitedly, he stepped through the portal and found himself in a completely new world.
The new world was filled with beautiful flowers and trees, and the light he had seen through the portal was actually a beautiful sunrise. Tim wandered around for a while, taking in the sights and smells of the new place. Eventually, he came across a small clearing with a large tree in it. Climbing up, he found a small door hidden amongst the branches. Pushing it open, he found himself in a small, cozy room. Inside was a single bed, a small dresser, and a small window.
Tim was excited to explore the new place, but he was also curious about the door he had found. He decided to try opening it again, and found that it led back to the portal he had entered through. Fascinated, he continued exploring the new world, and found that it was almost identical to his old one. He soon grew to love both worlds, and spent his days exploring each one. One day, he even found a hidden portal that led to his old world, and was able to visit family and friends once again. He was happy to have discovered two magical portals that allowed him to travel between his two worlds, and was content to live in both forever.
