Prompt: Write a short story about a man who discovers a magical portal

It was a dark and stormy night, and all Mark wanted to do was sleep in his comfortable bed. As he was about to drift off, he heard a loud banging on his door.
“Mark, open up! It’s raining hard outside and I’m really cold!” his wife pleaded.
Mark didn’t want to get up, but he knew he had to. He opened the door and found his wife soaking wet and shivering.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
“I found a magical portal that led me to a warm and sunny place. I thought you’d want to come with me,” she said.
Mark hesitated for a moment, but then he decided to go. He didn’t want to be left alone in the dark stormy night.
They walked through the portal and arrived in a beautiful town. They started walking down the main street and happened to walk past a store.
Inside the store was a beautiful woman with long curly hair. She was wearing a beautiful dress and she was holding a baby.
“Hello, I’m Mark’s wife. What is your name?” she asked the woman.
“My name is Sophie, and this is my son, Owen,” she replied.
Mark’s heart melted when he saw the baby. He had always wanted a child of his own, and now he had one.
They walked back home and everyone was happy. The only thing that was missing was Mark’s bed. He was too tired to go back to his room, so he decided to sleep on the couch.
The next morning, when he woke up, he realized that the couch wasn’t very comfortable. He got up and brushed his teeth before going back to the couch to sleep.
Suddenly, he heard a loud banging on the door. It was his wife.
“Mark! We have to go back to the portal! It’s closing!” she yelled.
Mark got up and followed his wife back to the portal. They arrived back in the dark and stormy night.
“I guess we’ll have to sleep on the ground tonight,” his wife said.
“I don’t mind,” Mark said.
He was happy that he had found the magical portal, and he was even happier that he had found his wife.
