Prompt: Write a short story about a man who discovers a magical portal

Recently, while out walking, a man stumbled upon a mysterious portal. As he stepped through, he found himself in a strange, brightly lit world. In front of him was a large, imposing door. On the door was a symbol that he had never seen before- a pair of intertwined circles. Fascinated by the door, the man walked up to it and tried to open it. However, it was Locked. The man then decided to explore the world beyond the door. As he did, he discovered that the world was populated by strange creatures, all of which appeared to be made out of light. The man also noticed that the door was the only landmark in the entire world, and that he was the only human there.
As he walked around, the man began to feel an intense curiosity about the door. He wanted to know what was on the other side. After a while, he discovered that the door was moving. He followed it, and soon found himself in front of a second, larger door. This door, too, was Locked. However, the man noticed that there was a small hole in the middle of the door. He decided to use his finger to move the hole, and then inserted his hand through. As he did, he felt a sudden sense of warmth, and soon discovered that he was inside the door.
Inside, the man found himself in a large, circular room. In the center of the room was a large, glowing sphere. The man walked over to it, and saw that it was shaking. Suddenly, the sphere shattered, and a bright light filled the room. The man immediately covered his eyes, but when he opened them, he found that the room was empty. He was surprised at how quickly the event had ended. He then realized that the door must have transported him there without him even realizing it.
Although the man found the experience strange and a little bit dangerous, he was ultimately fascinated by the portal and the world beyond it. He now frequently visits the portal to explore new parts of the world.
